What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Responsible for teaching groups of 8 – 15 children on a weekly basis football and multi sports.

  • You will be in charge of their training programmes and developing young footballers

  • You will coach 1-1 training session for young footballers looking at strength’s and weaknesses of each player and how they can improve their game

  • You will be shadowing highly experienced football coaches learning from them taking notes on how they deliver sessions and the content they deliver.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The program will consist of online training, webinars, practical workshops and workplace visits from the tutor.

  • On completion you will achieve a level 4 sports coach qualification.

 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Full time position on completion and further progression with the sports company

 

Working week

  • The shifts will be between 8am - 6.30pm Monday to Fridays (varied hours)

  • Saturdays 8:30am - 1:30pm

  • Total hours per week: 30

Expected duration

  • 18 Months

Our camp is based in Caterham, we make sure children are cared for in a safe and happy environment, while trying new activities and making new friends!

Successful candidates are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure and two professional references. You need to possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for employment.

Sports Coach

Supreme Sport deliver sport and physical activities to children, both in school curriculum time following the PE National Curriculum and/or set programs of study and also deliver a range of OSHL, (Out Of School Hours Learning programmes) extracurricular activities before school, at lunch times, after school, with opportunities to deliver evenings and in school holiday periods.

Job description

We are currently looking for dynamic individuals to join our network of Lead and Assistant coaches to work part time hours weekdays and weekends.

  • Monday - Friday: After school clubs 3 - 4:30pm

  • Saturday Soccer School 9 - 11:30am

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate and engage with the children in your classes.

  • Demonstrate games and skills with enthusiasm and energy, and provide positive feedback to the children.

  • Plan the sessions, ensure class start and finish on time.

Essential attributes:

  • An outgoing, dynamic personality.

  • An ability to engage with children with energy, enthusiasm and excitement

  • Excellent organisational, verbal communication and listening skills

  • Flexibility and adaptability

  • Own transport

  • Please also note that a DBS check will need to be completed by successful applicants.

Desirable attributes:

  • Experience of working with young children and/or previous coaching experience. This is desirable but not essential for somebody with the personality we are looking for.

  • A passion for sports (ideally football but not essential)

What we offer:

  • Very competitive rates of pay (between £10 and £15 per hour depending on experience and role).

  • Can lead to holiday camp activity leader roles.

  • Full training for assistant coaching roles.

Part-time hours: 7-10 per week
